MOTTO Gdańsk, now DOK 43

One place.
Two transformations.

I first created MOTTO Gdańsk: the brand, website and self-service guest journey. After the brand was acquired, I led its next transformation, building the website and communication for DOK 43.

MOTTO / DOK 43A property I helped shape through both stages.

Location Długie Ogrody, Gdańsk - a few minutes from the Old Town.
Scope MOTTO: brand creation, identity, photography, website and automation. DOK 43: a new website, content, booking integration, SEO and English version.
Goal First, launch MOTTO as a self-service property. Then, after acquisition, give DOK 43 a coherent website and a clear path to booking.

Stage 01 / MOTTO Gdańsk

First, a brand built from scratch.

I created MOTTO as a complete hospitality concept: its name, visual identity, photography, website and self-service guest journey. The process and figures below describe that original stage, before the brand was acquired.

The front desk as a process

There is no desk. There is a process.

The booking, online check-in, access code and sales document form one sequence. The guest completes it alone but is not left without support.

guest served, team stays in control

What had to be organised here?

Twelve rooms next to the Old Town without a staffed front desk that would consume most of the margin.

Challenge

A new property with zero recognition

A brand built from scratch in a competitive location, without a name, identity or a way to serve guests without a permanent front desk.

Solution

Brand + automation in one project

The name, identity and website were designed alongside the operating system: keypad locks, automatic messages and self check-in.

Outcome

A self-service stay without a permanent front desk

The guest completes online check-in, receives information and an access code, while the team stays in control and responds when the situation requires it.

From the name to the code on the door.

Before the website could be built, the brand needed a name, style and voice that had not existed before.

a process instead of a desk

There is no front desk. Support is still there.

The process must guide the guest clearly from booking to check-out, while the team sees when real intervention is needed.

  • Central booking hub connected to heating so radiators respond to room occupancy.
  • Keypad locks - access without keys or a doorman.
  • Automatic messages and notifications at every stage of the stay.
  • Self check-in - the guest enters independently at any time.

Stage 02 / DOK 43

New owners. The next chapter.

After the brand was acquired, the property continued as DOK 43. I returned to lead its next transformation: a website and communication built around the new name.

Continuity

A familiar place, a new name

I adapted the presentation of the property to DOK 43, using the new owners’ logo, the existing photography and the character of its rooms.

Website and bookings

From the first photo to choosing a stay

A WordPress website with separate room pages, a gallery, a changing photo hero and a booking calendar connected to the existing RoomAdmin system.

Communication

Ready for Polish and international guests

Polish and English content, a contact form connected to the property’s mailbox, and SEO for both language versions.

I led both transformations.

First, I created MOTTO and its self-service guest journey. After the acquisition, I prepared DOK 43’s website and communication. Two stages of the same property, with a different brief at each one.
